Duncraig Scout Group

Our Group's History.

How it Began:

Towards the end of 1982, the District Commissioner for Wanneroo, Mr Brian Allam, approached Mrs Ann Wegner with regard to starting a cub pack in her home suburb of Duncraig. Mr Jeff Clark offered to be group leader and a meeting of interested parents were called for Mr + Mrs Allam, Mr Terry Coggin (The Assistant District Commissioner) and Mr Tom Rollo (the Group Leader for 1st Warwick) attended and explained to parents the benefits of scouting to the community and the individual and what was involved in starting a new group.

Office Bearers:

A second meeting was held on December 14. Mrs Sonya Wombell offered to be Chairperson for the Group Committee, Mrs Pam Portch - Secretary and Mrs Jackie Hunt - Treasurer. It was decided, as our first fundraising event, to hold a bottle drive.
